Objectives

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

• Identify and name at least 10 parts of the body in Spanish.
• Use the appropriate articles (el, la, los, las) when talking about parts of the body in Spanish.
• Formulate simple sentences using vocabulary related to parts of the body.

Materials Needed

• Whiteboard and markers
• Flashcards or pictures of different parts of the body
• Worksheet with fill-in-the-blank sentences for students to complete

Procedure

1. Introduction (5 minutes)

• Greet students and introduce the topic of the lesson
• Ask students if they know any words in Spanish related to parts of the body
• Write down any words they know on the board

2. Vocabulary (10 minutes)

• Show flashcards or pictures of different parts of the body (e.g. cabeza, brazo, pierna, dedos, codo, rodilla, hombro, tobillo, oído, nariz)
• Ask students to repeat the names of the body parts after you
• Give examples of sentences using the body parts and the appropriate articles (e.g. La cabeza, el brazo, los dedos, etc.)

3. Sentence Formation (10 minutes)

• Give students the worksheet with fill-in-the-blank sentences related to parts of the body
• Have students work in pairs to complete the sentences
• Review the completed sentences as a class and correct any mistakes

4. Practice (5 minutes)

• Ask students to stand up and touch different parts of their body while saying the name of the body part in Spanish
• Have students take turns asking each other questions using the vocabulary they learned (e.g. ¿Cómo se llama esta parte del cuerpo? ¿Es el o la?)

5. Conclusion (5 minutes)

• Summarize the vocabulary and concepts covered in the lesson
• Ask students to name at least 5 parts of the body in Spanish
• Review the appropriate articles to use when talking about parts of the body in Spanish

Assessment

• Observe students during the practice activity to ensure they are using the correct vocabulary and articles when talking about parts of the body.
• Review completed worksheets to assess understanding of sentence formation using parts of the body vocabulary.
