Objectives

Materials Needed
- Whiteboard or blackboard
- Markers or chalk
- Handouts with workplace communication scenarios
- Audio or video recording devices
Introduction (5 minutes)
- Greet the students and introduce the topic of communication at work
- Discuss why effective communication is important in the workplace
- Explain that they will be learning and practicing vocabulary related to workplace communication, as well as developing skills in giving and receiving instructions
Vocabulary (10 minutes)
- Present and explain new vocabulary related to workplace communication, using the whiteboard or blackboard to write and draw examples
- Have students practice using the new vocabulary in pairs or small groups
Scenarios (15 minutes)
- Hand out the workplace communication scenarios
- Have students read and discuss the scenarios in pairs or small groups, using the new vocabulary
- Have students act out the scenarios and record themselves on audio or video
Feedback (5 minutes)
- Have students listen or watch their recordings and provide feedback on what they did well and what they can improve
- Encourage students to give constructive feedback to each other
Giving and Receiving Instructions (10 minutes)
- Explain the importance of giving and receiving clear instructions in the workplace
- Have students practice giving and receiving instructions in pairs or small groups, using the new vocabulary
- Provide feedback and corrections as needed
Conclusion (5 minutes)
- Recap the importance of effective communication in the workplace
- Provide examples of situations where good communication can make a difference
- Thank the students for their participation and encourage them to continue practicing their communication skills.
